Why?
The first time I read about Monster was in a magazine article, about six years ago I think. After reading that review I was convinced that Monster had to be an amazing, really interesting story; and I thought I'd love to read it, but I was sure that this kind of story would never be licensed (and published from the beginning to end) in Spain. Luckily I was wrong, because Monster would be licensed a couple of years later, back in 2001 :) I was really excited, because I wasn't expecting to have the chance to get my hands on it - of course, I got the first volume as soon as it came out.
Once you start reading Monster, is like if you were under some kind of spell... you just can't leave it, you can't stop. You get hooked since the very first moment, and once you've finished one volume you can't wait to the next one - or at least that's how I felt the first time I read it :) It is one of the best stories I've ever read (with lots of great, well-developed characters as well) and I enjoyed it so much from the beginning to the end. I've also liked what I've seen from the anime so far, because it's a really good adaptation of the manga, as they have respected Urasawa-sensei's work the best they could.
I can say for sure that Monster is one of my fav anime/manga series ever... it's a masterpiece, a must read (or must watch, as you wish ;)), and everyone should give it a try without a doubt. I'm a huge fan of the series and that's why I've decided to make this site, not only to gather all the Monster fans from all over the world in one same place, but also to make a little tribute to this great story. Simply because it deserves it :)
